Actress and singer Olivia Newton-John, known for her famous role in the musical Grease, has passed away. Olivia’s husband, John Easterling, says the woman passed away peacefully at his southern California ranch on Monday morning, surrounded by family and friends.
Olivia has been battling breast cancer for over 30 years, but no specific cause of death has yet been released, although a source close to Olivia told the publication. TMZ: “After a 30-year journey against cancer, she lost her battle with metastatic breast cancer.”
Olivia Newton-John rose to fame with her role in the hit film Grease in Hollywood, as well as her sweet voice in various musical styles, including country pop, folk pop, rock pop and disco pop in the 70s.
The singer left several songs at number one, such as “I honestly love you”, “You’ve never been soft”, “You’re the one I want”, and “Magic”.
In 1978, Grease debuted, where, in addition to showing talent, he revealed his sex appeal. Based on a musical comedy about a 1950s high school, the film starred Olivia as a good student and cheerleader who fell in love with Danny, played by John Travolta, who had already reacted to his friend’s death.
