The FBI has searched the home of former US President Donald Trump in Florida. The raid is believed to be related to documents he illegally took from the White House to Mar-a-Lago at the end of his presidency in January 2021.

The FBI declined to comment when asked. Police cars could be seen in pictures in front of Trump’s property. Trump supporters also gathered there with banners with his likeness and US flags. The ex-head of state himself called the mission “dark times for our nation”.
The National Archives confirmed last February that it had seized 15 boxes of documents in Mar-a-Lago that Trump took with him when he left Washington. The documents included official correspondence with North Korea’s leader Kim Jong Un, a letter left in the Oval Office by Trump’s predecessor, Barack Obama, and documents containing “defense secrets,” according to the Washington Post.
