Minors were attacked and forced into a van in Caldas da Rainha

A video circulating on social media shows the moment a group of more than two dozen citizens of the Indian community living in the Caldas da Rainha region surrounded two young Portuguese people last Sunday afternoon in the city.

Teenagers, minors, complain that the group attacked them with brass knuckles, irons and sticks, which in turn claims that they would have taken them to the PSP police station after complaints of alleged aggression and theft, as well as acts of racism and xenophobia in relation to members of the Indian community of the city, allegedly committed by a group to which these minors belong and which declared the existence of provocations and harassment by foreigners.

Two different versions, the contours of which are being investigated by law enforcement agencies.

With regard to the episode recorded on video by a local resident, two minors were allegedly attacked and forced into a van a few hundred meters from the PSP police station, where they were allegedly to be taken.

The van arrived, but the video does not show the arrival of the PSP, which revealed some elements of the Indian community and the smallest.

An investigation was launched to establish the facts and report it to the prosecutor’s office.

The police authorities believe that this case, despite the eccentricity of the situation, requires increasing its visibility in the city, curbing any attempts to settle scores, trying to warn that the parties involved should determine the guilt.
