The government published this Friday the Budget Execution Ordinance (DLEO) in Diário da República, which establishes the rules for the application of the state budget for 2022 (OE2022) after two years of the 2019 DLEO.
“It is worth noting the preservation of the structure of this decree-law compared to previous years, which contributes to its correct interpretation, contributing to legal security and certainty,” reads the preamble of the diploma, approved on July 28 by the Council. ministers.
The executive branch also underlines that “in terms of continuity” the Diploma supports the tools and mechanisms considered necessary to control costs, along with the introduction of a set of measures “whose main objectives are to simplify and increase flexibility.” administrative procedures of a similar nature.
According to the document, the captives come into force “on the day after their publication”, this Saturday, the 13th.
The diploma was unveiled on Tuesday by the President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Souza.
OE2022 came into effect at the end of June, after a budget proposal presented in October by the previous government was rejected by parliament, leading to early elections and the selection of a new executive body.
In 2020 and 2021, the relevant Decree-Laws on Budget Execution (FEEL) were not published, and the Government considered that the 2019 FEEO remains in force until a new one is approved.
