Since immunization began in the old people’s and nursing homes at the beginning of the year, they are the first to go again. You can order the vaccines as needed. This was reported by the Deputy Governor Christine Haberlander (ÖVP) as a health officer at a press conference on Wednesday in Linz.
In cooperation with the Red Cross, the country is again preparing vaccination routes and cooperation with resident doctors for booster vaccinations. For this there are now precise recommendations – depending on risk, age and initial vaccine – between six and nine months after full immunization. When it comes to informing the vaccinated, Haberlander believes that the Austrian Health Insurance Fund has a duty in the interests of its insured persons. The hospitals should also point out to their patients: “The time has come”.
The medical director of the Salzkammergut Clinic, Tilman Königswieser, emphasized: Those working in the hospital would be happy to receive praise and recognition for their efforts to help corona patients, but above all appeal: “If you want to help us, get vaccinated.” The state of Upper Austria wants to intensify its vaccination information campaign and low-threshold vaccination offers again.
