The couple who sowed terror in the Algarve were arrested this Saturday in Spain at a McDonald’s in Zamora.
It was the client who identified the suspects and called the Civil Guard, after which they were arrested by the Spanish National Police.
According to CMNelida and Sidney did not react to the arrest.
This Saturday, the couple stole a Spanish car with Portuguese registration, and in the same car they crossed the border into Spain again. In Portugal, according to CM/CMTV, Nelida and Sidney stole the second car they were in at the time of their arrest.
Portuguese and Spanish authorities worked together to find the couple’s whereabouts. The last known robbery took place on Friday evening, again in Portugal, at a gas station on the A23 motorway in Fundau.
According to police, the woman is 40 and the man is 42, and they are both suspected of robberies at service stations in Toledo, Badajoz and Seville.
Nelida Guerreiro and Sidney Martins are the most wanted couple in the country for their involvement in a spate of armed robberies at gas stations in the Algarve. There are several love vows on social media.
