On Sunday, the SDP president announced that the party had submitted a proposal for an emergency social program for the period September to December totaling one billion euros to help those most in need.
“Today [domingo] Even our parliamentary leader asked the President of the Assembly of the Republic, so that when the plenary session begins to function, the emergency social program that the Government does not implement, but which we are going to propose to the country, could be discussed,” said Luis Montenegro, speaking at the Pontal festival Festival in Quarteira, Algarve.
According to Luis Montenegro, who made his debut as SDP leader at the Festa do Pontal, the party’s usual “return” rally to Faro district, the program includes five axes that are “transitional measures for four months and are guaranteed by the fact that the surplus of taxes that the government collect this year.
