28-year-old woman dies in violent clash in Grandola

A 28-year-old girl died and two men were seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision followed by a car overturn at Estrada Nacional 261 at the Grandola junction in the municipality of Grandola.

Contacting Lusa, a GNR High Command source added that two men, one 20 years old and the other 28 years old, were also seriously injured in the accident. One of the wounded was taken to the García de Orta hospital in Almada. The second victim was taken by ambulance to Hospital Litoral Alentejano in the municipality of Santiago do Casem.

The alarm was issued at 12:26 p.m. Motorway EN261 in the area where the collision occurred was closed to traffic in both directions, but traffic is already running “in air-conditioned mode,” a GNR source told Lusa.

Firefighters from Grandola, Alcácer do Sal and the authorities were on site, 27 in total, supported by 12 vehicles. An INEM helicopter was also called to the scene.
