Ahrweiler: How amateurish civil protection cost lives

New research by star show, as well as the statements in the investigative committee of the Mainz state parliament, how amateurish the district of Ahrweiler and especially district administrator Joachim Pföhler operated the civil protection. The entire management itself was a catastrophe, say experts – they state human error at all levels.

It is the moment when the Prime Minister of Rhineland-Palatinate, Malu Dreyer (SPD), praises the district administrator of the Ahrweiler district, Jürgen Pföhler, at a press event on July 15, 2021 in the Ahr Valley: “I really want to thank the district administrator for the Willingness to work here on site.”
