Lisbon Chamber led by Medina donates 350,000 euros to son Sergio Figueiredo’s company

The former head of the Lisbon City Council, headed by current finance minister Fernando Medina, has provided €350,000 support to a company owned by Sergio Jacob Ribeiro, son of Sergio Figueiredo. The money was earmarked for the “Planetiers World Gathering 2020”, an event dedicated to the theme of sustainable development. The information was distributed in the online edition NEW.

The weekly recalls that at the time of the events, Fernando Medina was a paid commentator on TVI 24, the TVI news channel directed by Sergio Figueiredo. TVI was also a media partner of the event and received a “significant” amount for the partnership, paid by Planetiers, added, without mentioning the amount, the former director of TVI in the report, which is the headline NEW this Saturday.

As a reminder, Fernando Medina recently invited the former CIO of TVI and former administrator of the EDP Foundation as a strategic consultant to assess and monitor the impact of public policies, which drew criticism from political parties and commentators. Sergio Figueiredo should receive a gross salary of over 5,800 euros.

After controversy, the former journalist eventually resigned. “Giving up sucks. It’s a way of saying it’s not worth it – and it’s not worth it because everything isn’t worth it,” he wrote in an article published in the Jornal de Negócios. Fernando Medina reacted to this decision by saying that he was very sorry, but “I understand the reasons very well.”
