SPD and Scholz are ahead

A good three weeks before the German federal election, the SPD has again made significant gains according to the ZDF “Politbarometer” and is now clearly ahead of the CDU and CSU parties. If votes were to take place on Sunday, the Union would remain at 22 percent, its lowest value so far in this survey by the Elections Research Group.

The SPD could increase by three percentage points compared to the previous week and would be the strongest force for the first time since September 2002 with 25 percent in this projection. The Greens, who were very strong for a long time and even leading for a short time, would lose three points and only come to 17 percent.

The SPD candidate for chancellor built on the “K question” Olaf Scholz his head start. 53 percent (plus four) would like to have the current Vice Chancellor as the successor to the no longer candidate Angela Merkel, the CDU / CSU applicant Armin Laschet would like 18 percent (plus one) and the Green candidate Annalena Baerbock 14 percent (minus two) .
