This Sunday afternoon, GNR chased the bike down the A1 but was unsuccessful. It all happened around 18:30, when in Ponte do Vouga, near the exit for Albergaria, south/north, a motorcyclist who was traveling with a hidden license plate was stopped by a patrol car of the Highway Brigade.
The driver, who was riding a motorcycle with another person, disobeyed the order to stop and for several minutes tried to overtake the GNR vehicle in order to get away. Got it and hit the road. According to the Aveiro PNR command, the military managed, however, to remove part of the registration and refuse to pursue, as the accident could have been imminent, since the driver did not follow the stop signal.
However, the owner of the motorcycle has already been identified, but it is not known whether he was a driver at that time, or the vehicle was stolen. According to the GNR, the investigation is ongoing.
