Cheg’s deputy, Gabriel Mita Ribeiro, announced this Monday that he has stepped down as party vice president after stepping down from the position of research cabinet coordinator held “temporarily” by André Ventura.
“After my resignation from the post of vice-chairman of the Chega party, on July 9 this year. 21,” says Gabriel Mita Ribeiro in an email addressed to André Ventura and posted by the MP on Facebook.
In the same e-mail, the parliamentarian asks André Ventura to “immediately accept his resignation as Vice President of the Chega Party.”
The order, published on Sunday on the Chega website and signed by André Ventura, mentions that “in terms of statutory powers and taking into account the process of reorganization of various party bodies announced at the last National Council, it is temporarily and with immediate effect on the president of the national leadership, coordinating the activities of the party research bureau until the approval of the new organic configuration at the next National Council.
This change will cover, according to the order, “the organization, powers, members and respective voting rights in the various deliberative bodies of the party.”
Elected deputy in the last legislative elections in January by the circle of Leiria, Gabriel Mita Ribeiro was the party’s second nominee for Vice President of the Assembly of the Republic after the rejection of Diogo Pacheco de Amorim, but he also failed the election.
