Sanna Marin hit the headlines in her home country because of party videos. Federal Foreign Minister Baerbock is now commenting on this and defending the Finnish head of government.
Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock (Greens) has defended Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin against criticism of the party videos.
“Even if it may shock some, politicians are people and have a private life,” said Baerbock in Copenhagen. “I also like music and, when I have some private time, not only play cards, but was on vacation – unfortunately not at a party – but at a rock concert.”
Finland’s Prime Minister Marin hit the headlines last week with videos of a private party showing her dancing and singing with friends. After speculation about whether drugs were involved at the party about two weeks ago, Marin took a drug test. This turned out negative.
In her homeland, but also in Germany, several politicians had protected the Finn. Green politician Hannah Neumann had published a video of a Green federal party conference in 2018, where people danced eagerly. Back then, Baerbock, among other things, swung her hips with her in a gallery.
