Hugo Soares, speaking at the opening of the 18th PSD Summer University, which will last until Sunday in Castelo de Vide (Portalegre), believes that António Coste “lacks political authority”, recalling the “episodes” associated with the location of the new airport in Lisbon and the Ministry of Infrastructure.
“This is a government without a team, because apparently the prime minister did not agree with the minister’s decision. [Pedro Nuno Santos]who is not just some minister, but one of those who say that he can change the prime minister, he does not allow him, and the minister remains fearless and serene in the government, as if nothing had happened,” he said.
In addition to criticizing the Minister of Finance’s recruitment policy and António Costa’s position on the matter, Hugo Soares said that this government is “not responsible”, citing as an example the relationship between the Minister of Agriculture, Maria do Seu Antunes, and the Portuguese Farmers’ Confederation ( CAP).

“This government, in addition to not being in command, in addition to not being responsible and in addition to being meaningless, has in many respects aspects of immorality that the SDP will certainly denounce,” he assured.
The 18th edition of PSD Summer University will run until Sunday as part of the Social Democrats’ traditional “rent” initiative that did not take place in 2020 and 2021 due to the covid-19 pandemic.
The closing of the Summer University is scheduled for Sunday at 12:00 with performances by Alexander Pozo, Carlos Coelho and Luis Montenegro.
This will be the second high point for the PSD this summer, after Luis Montenegro revived the traditional Festa do Pontal in Carteira in mid-August, which was attended by former party leader Pedro Passos Coelho.
