Trump agreed to file tax returns with the US Congress

The US Congressional Oversight Commission announced this Thursday that it has reached an agreement to access the financial records of former President Donald Trump, who has refused to release them for years.

The controversy surrounding this information dates back to April 2019, when the commission issued a subpoena to access this information as part of an investigation into the former president’s conflict of interest, as well as transactions “in your favor” and financial ties with foreign organizations.

Trump and Mazars USA, the accounting firm used by the former president and his companies, sued then-Democratic commission chairman Elijah Cummings in an attempt to block the subpoena.
