Outdoor advertising company Dreammedia expects to earn €16 million this year and top 200 employees, executive chairman Ricardo Bastos told Lusa on Friday.

“This year we expect growth of about 45-50%, which will increase our turnover to about 15-16 million euros,” said Lusa, the head of the company, headquartered in Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto district.

Ricardo Bastos also revealed that the company earned €11 million in 2021 and that its goal is to reach €40 million by 2026.

“This whole move that we’re making is about getting that kind of turnover, hiring new people, new talent, new industries,” he said.

The advertising company’s executive president said he was “convinced that this year Dreammedia will become the largest outdoor advertising operator in Portugal with over 200 employees.”

The company currently employs about 160 people and aims to become the industry’s “biggest employer” in Portugal, opening a new headquarters and operations center on Thursday at Arrábida Lake Towers in Vila Nova de Gaia.

In addition to the headquarters, which will occupy about 1,200 square meters in tower C of the complex (between the basement and the eighth floors), the company has over 9,000 square meters of production space (factory and warehouses), both in Lisbon and in Vila Nova de Gaia, where, according to Ricardo Bastos, “the entire production division” of Dreammedia is located.

The official added that the company’s manufacturing sectors include the area of ​​metalworking and technology, and in the case of the first “the concept, architecture or industrial” design “is carried out, and then the “whole construction process” of the equipment. such as urban furniture.

“Obviously, we are not building the technological equipment itself, the LED. We build “design”, we think of all the equipment, we build internationally to our technical specifications and in Portugal we do all the assembly of our products.” , he explained to Luce, already about technology.

Regarding the company’s presence abroad, the official recalled that Dreammedia has been present in Mozambique for 10 years and is currently at a stage that is still “secret”, “developing momentum in several other parts of the globe”, in particular in Europe. .

“We have already created companies and we have people, but at the moment we are still building a company,” he said, adding that “there is no active commercial activity” in these cases yet.

Asked about the current dynamics of the sector, especially in the post-COVID-19 period, Ricardo Bastos said there has been “very big growth” as “from January to July of this year, the billboard market grew by 47%.” compared to the same period last year.

“Brands are making huge investments, a constant bet on what is outdoor advertising” across the sector, he argues, citing “the market is booming.”
