That is how dissatisfied the Germans are with the candidates for chancellor

Who will rule the Federal Republic in the future? If the population were to elect the Chancellor directly, none of the candidates would have really good cards.

The eligible population of Germany is not satisfied with the political work of the current candidate for chancellor. A good two months before the federal election, the verdict for Baerbock, Laschet and Scholz in the current ARD-DeutschlandTREND is devastating. Dissatisfaction predominates in all three candidates.

Only 27 percent of those surveyed are satisfied with Laschet’s work, Baerbock comes in at 27 percent, and Scholz comes off best with around 48 percent. The comparison of satisfaction with the top candidate: inside from the previous federal elections at the same time clearly shows that both the Union and the Greens seem to have backed the wrong horse. Angela Merkel, for example, never had less than 60 percent approval in the last three elections, as it shows.

The voters are also with Baerbock: inside, they are significantly more dissatisfied than with their predecessors – Trittin received 46 and 36 percent approval, respectively, while Özdemir even supported 55 percent in 2017.

Only Olaf Scholz cuts a better figure among the current candidates than the last SPD candidates. It is around two percentage points above the satisfaction values of Schulz and around four above Steinbrück. In 2009, however, 71 percent of those surveyed were satisfied with Steinmeier’s work – utopian values for today’s SPD.
