Urgent Martha Temido Hearing Requested by Liberal Initiative Denied by PS

The Liberal Initiative’s request for an urgent parliamentary hearing on outgoing health minister Marta Temido was rejected by the PS this Wednesday, António Malo de Abreu, chairman of the parliamentary health committee, told Lusa.

The Social Democrat MP said that other parties voted in favor, while the Socialist Party rejected the hearing on the grounds that Marta Temido had asked to resign and there was still no new minister.

The Liberal Initiative wanted to hear from Marta Temido about the annual report on access to care in National Health Service (SNS) and agreed organizations regarding 2021 and the future of the SNA.

Marta Temido resigned on August 30 because she felt she was “no longer able” to hold the position, and the prime minister chose to keep the minister for another 15 days until the appointment of the executive leadership of the SNA, which will happen next week.

PSD’s requests for a hearing from the Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Algarve (CHUA) and from the management of the Biomedical Center of the Algarve (ABC) and Chega to hold an urgent hearing from the President of INEM regarding the failure of care have also been submitted. by a vote in the health committee, which were unanimously approved.
