The Constitutional Court this Thursday approved the results of the general elections announced by the National Electoral Commission (CNE), which gave victory to the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA), the last resort.
After this stage, according to Presidential Judge Laurinda Cardoso, the stage of the electoral dispute is over and the President of the Republic João Lourenço, Vice President Esperanza da Costa and the elected members of the National Assembly should be involved in their respective functions. .
Laurinda Cardoso, who read the statement without the right to ask questions, said that the Constitutional Court, under the guise of an electoral court that is ultimately responsible for approving the elections, today completed its analysis of the judicial appeals filed by the Convergência Ampla. de Salvação de Angola – Electoral Coalition (CASA-CE) and National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA).
