The “third stitch” was administered to 30 people in the Linz Volkshaus Neue Heimat on Thursday. “This will take us to the next step in Austria vaccinating,” said Deputy Governor Christine Haberlander (VP). As reported, the third-party vaccinations began earlier this week in old people’s and nursing homes as well as for high-risk patients in hospitals and with general practitioners. From now on, however, anyone who, according to the National Vaccination Committee (NIG), is recommended to have a “third trick” can book an appointment at ooe-impft.at, explains Haberlander. There are currently free dates until October 8th.
The NIG recommends the third vaccination for people with a high risk profile and for people over 65 years of age within six to nine months after full immunization. Nine to twelve months is the recommended period for anyone over the age of 16. The vaccines from Biontech / Pfizer and Moderna are used.
