The remote-controlled lifebuoy is a Portuguese invention, unique in the world.

The remote-controlled rescue equipment, which was invented, designed and manufactured entirely in Portugal, was presented for the first time in our country this Wednesday at Praia da Rocha in Portimão. This is a remotely controlled life buoy that promises to revolutionize sea rescue.

It is called Usafe and was used for the first time this Wednesday in the Algarve, where the concessionaire decided to purchase the equipment to enhance maritime rescue facilities. OUR CMTV accompanied a rescue demonstration using this equipment.

The use of the buoy, which will be operated by rescuers, is simple, so that a 9-year-old child can be saved.

This equipment was invented, designed and manufactured entirely in Portugal and is already in use by several navies and coast guards around the world.

The equipment operates in Portugal Instituto de Socorros a Náufragos and has no analogues in the world. Soon one of these means of rescue will be offered to the rescue station in Ferragudo to improve maritime safety.
