At its party congress on Saturday, the CSU unanimously decided on the executive board’s proposal for an offensive in the final spurt of the election campaign.
With a focus on the decision of fate and the emphasis on conservative topics, the Christian Socials want to leave the polls behind and, in particular, to bind unsettled regular voters to themselves. “The general election is a real directional decision for every individual,” says the main motion of the party congress in Nuremberg.

Even the implementation of individual election goals of the SPD, the Greens and the Left endangers the prosperity of our country. A government without the Union would lead to a debt crisis, tax increases and a loss of security – all core issues that are highly mobilized, especially among regular bourgeois voters. The CSU is in the same direction with its warnings to farmers against an “eco-dictation” and to pensioners against financial losses should the Union lose the election.
On Friday, the party congress confirmed CSU leader Markus Söder in his office. He received 87.6 percent of the vote.
