You have reached an agreement on the overdue maintenance of monitoring devices in nuclear facilities and thus created space for broader diplomatic efforts, said IAEA chief Rafael Grossi on Sunday evening in Vienna.
After returning from a trip to Tehran to announce the deal, Grossi told reporters at Vienna Airport that the deal should “leave room for diplomacy … so that broader solutions can be found”.
Grossi, however, said that Tehran and the IAEA had not yet reached a permanent solution for monitoring the Iranian nuclear facilities. Atomic Energy Agency inspectors would still not have access to the data stored by the devices. “That cannot be a permanent solution,” said Grossi.
