An irritating motivational video is circulating on Twitter, which the CDU, according to a report by the “Vice” magazine, showed employees at the party headquarters. In a newly subtitled Hollywood film scene, Olaf Scholz is violently bullied.
According to a report by the magazine “Vice”, the CDU showed an unusual motivational film to employees and supporters on Sunday, the evening of the Chancellor’s Triumph, at its party headquarters in Berlin. The internal clip was a scene from the Hollywood film “The Wolf of Wall Street”, in which Leonardo DiCaprio played the fraudulent US stockbroker Jordan Belfort.
The film excerpt presented by the party, in which DiCaprio as Belfort gives a flaming motivational speech in front of his employees, has apparently been re-subtitled – among other things with reproach against the SPD chancellor candidate Olaf Scholz.
“We overtake the Sozen”
Vice editor-in-chief Felix Dachsel shared a video on Twitter showing the performance of the irritating video:
In the subtitle there are sentences like “And we overtake the Sozen” and “Smurfed, dear Olaf!” to read. It also says “Let’s go out now and let’s convince the people together with Armin Laschet and if necessary we will force it”.
A press spokesman for the CDU Saxony initially posted the recording online, but later deleted it.
A CDU spokesman only informed “Vice” that it was not an official party video. Chancellor candidate Laschet had not yet been to the Konrad-Adenauer-Haus at the time of the performance.
