Even after the first few days of school, the question arises: How do the schools want to get through the winter? General Secretary Martin Netzer from the Ministry of Education was a guest in the morning journal. The new quarantine rules are fixed, it is assumed that these will be issued by the Ministry of Health today.
Among other things, new: only the children who sit next to them are sent to quarantine if there is an infection, and after five days there is the opportunity to test yourself. Only the children should have to be quarantined where it is unavoidable. “That applies to all federal states.”
The test preparations had already started in May, “otherwise we would not be able to start the PCR tests now”. The fact that the schools were prepared differently depending on the location is due to the different requirements depending on the size of the location and the different logistics processes.
School officials would demand a greater say – and the ministry would also listen to the wishes of the federal student representatives: “Now it is really the youngsters’ turn, now the adults have to be considerate. The adults have to protect the children and adolescents, ”says Netzer. But the young people would also have to step up their vaccination and the school officials would have to advertise vaccination in their schools and act as “role models”.
Teachers are the best-valued professional group. Over 80 percent are vaccinated, “if all professional groups were vaccinated like this, the pandemic would be over”.
