According to official figures, seven people were killed in an attack in a diplomatic quarter in the Afghan capital Kabul. 41 others were injured in the blast.
As a spokesman for the interior ministry told the Afghan news channel Tolo News, the incident happened near a mosque when believers were leaving the building after prayer. Eyewitnesses reported that a magnetic bomb had exploded. According to the Afghan interior ministry, explosives in a car caused an explosion.
So far, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack. Since the militant Islamist Taliban took power in August 2021, there have been multiple attacks on civilians by the Islamic State terrorist militia.
