People flashing flashlights desperately for help on flood-washed roofs. People standing in the water fighting for their lives. People who are swept away by the floods in cars: These are dramatic scenes that take place in the Ahr Valley on the evening of July 14, 2021. She was arrested by a police helicopter that flew over the Ahr Valley in the evening hours. The videos were previously unknown, on Friday they appeared surprisingly in the committee of inquiry into the flood disaster in the Mainz state parliament – and put the Interior Minister of Rhineland-Palatinate, Roger Lewentz (SPD), under enormous pressure.
