You already lead the parliamentary group in the current state parliament. And Katharina Schulze and Ludwig Hartmann will also be at the top of the Bavarian Greens in the coming year.
Katharina Schulze and Ludwig Hartmann are leading the Greens as a top duo in the Bavarian state elections in autumn 2023. At a state party conference in Landshut on Saturday, the two state parliamentary group leaders were elected with a large majority. With 95.3 percent of the valid votes, the delegates supported the personnel proposal of the Greens state committee.
Schulze and Hartmann committed their party to a passionate fight for government participation in the Free State. “Bavaria deserves a better government,” said Schulze. During their joint appearance, both attacked the CSU and Prime Minister Markus Söder in particular. “Egomaniacs have clearly had their day,” said Schulze. Now is the time for teams.
Schulze and Hartmann had already led the Greens to the state elections in 2018. At that time, the Greens achieved the best result in their history in Bavaria with 17.6 percent. Even then, the cabinet table in the State Chancellery was within reach. However, the CSU chose the Free Voters as coalition partners – and these two want to continue their cooperation after 2023. In a recent survey, the Greens were in second place with 18 percent, but noticeably behind the CSU with currently 40 percent.
