“The state government failed in the pandemic”

“The state government failed in the pandemic”

“The entire state government failed to take on its responsibility in fighting pandemics and failed,” said Neos top candidate Felix Eypeltauer yesterday in a sweeping attack on the country’s corona crisis management. Be it the lack of information for migrant groups on the subject of vaccinations or the low vaccination rate in old people’s homes.

At the FPÖ, Eypeltauer sees a “deeply irresponsible policy on the backs of parents, children and health workers”, because: “For electoral reasons, the FPÖ makes people afraid of the vaccination.” At the ÖVP, Eypeltauer misses a clear line and sees “complete oversleeping of the summer”. In addition, one is not honest with the people when it comes to the necessary measures. “For election campaign reasons,” suspects Eypeltauer. The infrastructure for nationwide PCR tests should have been set up, said Neos health spokesman Gerald Loacker. He called for a guarantee for open schools: “If we had a decent vaccination quota, this pandemic fight on the back of the children would not be necessary.”

According to Loacker, one is not in favor of a general compulsory vaccination, but one is in favor of paid tests: “How do the vaccinated come to pay the unvaccinated for the tests?”
