TV Criticism
Armin Laschet has never smoked weed and is against the legalization of cannabis. It was the only clear announcement by the CDU candidate for chancellor in the public survey. Otherwise: digress, digress, make everything possible.

What Armin Laschet was already: Minister of Integration, Minister of Women, he took part in a school newspaper and was a member of a Catholic student union. For almost every question, the Christian Democrat found a position in the ARD election arena that underscored his special competence. And when he happened to be something else – bus driver, long-term unemployed or migrant, for example – he referred to his services as Prime Minister. “How we did it in North Rhine-Westphalia” was the ultimate formula for success. Must be a great state. It is not directly accessible when you drive on the A42 from Oberhausen to Herne.
Jellyfish-like chatter
Laschet has learned his rhetoric lesson: digress, digress, make everything possible. With empathy bordering on sliminess, he thanked each time for the “very important” question and answered it with his own jellyfish-like chatter. Cost of living: “Everyone must share in the country’s prosperity.” Racism: “Must become a society that is more diverse.” Dependence on dictatorships: “We have to keep in touch through trade.” Development policy: “Africa has a lot of potential if you let the people.” And again and again: “I understand that.” He got the phone number from a woman from Leer who has been looking for a job for ages. For whatever. Super Armin saves the world.
When the CDU chairman received the first hesitant applause, he dared to tell people about the horse. When asked about the additional income of members of the Bundestag, Laschet asked for understanding. A baker who goes to the Bundestag cannot be accused of continuing to take care of his bakery on the side. Who knows whether he will be re-elected after four years. Uff. Many would like this much planning security – with a basic salary of 10,000 euros at the same time. A student from Stuttgart, who expressed her concern about whether it would be possible to have children at all in view of the global warming, he responded with the unsubstantiated sentence: “We can do it.”
“My government saved the Hambach Forest”
But it shouldn’t be too cozy for Laschet. He got out of step three times. A 15-year-old climate activist (“Your climate policy is a catastrophe”) he straddled rather unfriendly and perverted to the outrageously unfounded thesis: “My government saved the Hambach Forest.” When a man asked him why he wasn’t stepping down from his candidacy for chancellor if he was really interested in Germany, dark clouds came over the Rhenish cheerfulness. Laschet wrestled with his pissed off and countered sharply: “What did you think of the idea that we let the people decide on September 26th which party to vote for?”
He was speechless when a woman asked him about his membership in a Catholic fraternity. The allegation, which was not quite stringently presented: Laschet owes his career to this network and his wife’s family, among other things. The question: whether he could differentiate himself from this connection in terms of climate. The 60-year-old only understood the train station. “Why should I distance myself from it?” He replied, confused. “Klaus Töpfer was also in such a connection.”
