Bundestag election quiz: which party did this sentence come from?

Are you ready for the federal election on September 26th? Or should you take another look at the party platforms before ticking the box? You can find out here.

Only a few days left until the federal election: On September 26, around 31.2 million women and 29.2 million men in Germany will be able to vote on which parties they want to have in government over the next four years and who will be Angela Merkel after 16 years to succeed in the Chancellery. The eligible voters also include around 2.8 million first-time voters, that is, 4.6 percent of all eligible voters are allowed to vote on the future federal government for the first time in their lives.

According to the surveys, the SPD and its candidate for Chancellor Olaf Scholz have a good chance of replacing the Union as the strongest force in the Bundestag. Their candidate Armin Laschet, however, relies on a change of mood for the final. According to the polls, the Greens, on the other hand, can hardly hope that Annalena Baerbock will be the next government to be led by a woman.

The parties and the candidates have brought themselves and their goals closer to the voters in countless marketplace speeches, discussions and television appearances over the past few weeks. Anyone who wanted to know what a candidate stands for or what politics can be expected from which party had plenty of opportunities to find out more. And those who do not feel sufficiently informed can find the electoral or basic programs of all 47 parties on the Internet that apply for the people’s vote with state election lists or constituency candidates.
