Where in other federal states the SPD, CDU or the Greens come first in opinion polls. Does it look different in Saxony at the moment – that is where the AfD should receive the greatest popularity.
A survey by the opinion research institute Insa predicts that the AfD in Saxony will win the general election. The party would therefore get 26 percent of the vote. The AfD was already in the lead in the 2017 federal election, albeit by a narrow margin (27.0 percent).
According to the survey on behalf of the “Leipziger Volkszeitung”, the Union is facing a debacle: it accounted for only 18 percent (2017: 26.9). The SPD would be on par with 18 percent (2017: 10.5). Like the FDP, the Left would receive 11 percent. The Greens would only have 8 percent.
According to the survey, the majority of voters have already decided. 61 percent are “very sure” about their voting decision.
For the survey, the Insa Institute from Erfurt interviewed 1000 representatively selected citizens from Saxony from September 6th to 13th.
