Green Party Congress: Reasonable and boring: the party is quiet

The party conference in Bonn shows that the Greens have lost the desire to argue in these times of war. Unless it’s against the FDP.

Ricarda Lang says she’s “damn proud to be the leader of a party that can’t be silenced”. That’s nonsense, of course, because this party doesn’t need to be pacified. She is it. In fact, she is so remarkably calm that she can no longer ignore it herself. That a striking number of speakers at the three-day party conference, which the Greens are holding in Bonn until Sunday, come up with exactly this point.

What’s the matter with this party? Can the Greens still do that: argue, really nice, like before?
