War, inflation, pandemic: The coalition of SPD, Greens and FDP is confronted with many crises at the same time. Opinion polls give an impression of the mood of the population – but only selectively.
The traffic light coalition comes back to a majority in a new survey. Together, the SPD (20 percent), Greens (18 percent) and FDP (9 percent) unite 47 percent in the “Sunday trend” for the “Bild am Sonntag”.
According to the information, the opposition parties represented in the Bundestag come together to one percentage point less (46 percent). The Union parties lost one percentage point compared to the previous week, the FDP gained one. The other major parties remained unchanged.
Election polls are generally subject to uncertainties. Among other things, declining party ties and increasingly short-term voting decisions make it difficult for the opinion research institutes to weight the data collected.
In principle, surveys only reflect the opinion at the time of the survey and are not a forecast of the outcome of the election. The next federal election is not scheduled until 2025.
