Fractional manager Schneider: CDU has to “return” donation “immediately” until the origin is clarified

SPD parliamentary group leader Carsten Schneider criticizes a “concealment” of the large donation of 250,000 euros to the CDU via “windy letterbox companies”. Financial investor Lars Windhorst is behind the companies that gave the money to the federal CDU. In July, the donation was preceded by a joint dinner for entrepreneurs and candidate for Chancellor Armin Laschet in Berlin. Lars Windhorst was also invited here.

The SPD has asked CDU leader Armin Laschet to clarify the latest party donation from financial investor Lars Windhorst to the CDU. “As long as it is not clear from which channels Mr. Windhorst the money comes from, the CDU must return the donation immediately,” said SPD parliamentary group leader Carsten Schneider stern.

Schneider pointed out that the financial supervisory authority reported Bafin Windhorst to the Berlin public prosecutor’s office a few weeks ago. “Nevertheless, after a donation dinner with Laschet, the CDU accepts a very large campaign donation from him,” Schneider said. In addition, the SPD MP criticized the lack of transparency in the donation: “Why is the origin of the donation being disguised by windy letterbox companies in the British Virgin Islands and Luxembourg?”
