Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania: While surveys suggest a very close race for the nationwide election victory, everything seems to be clear in the eastern German state. Accordingly, the incumbent Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig can achieve a clear victory with her SPD. As a result, the current ruling party has around 39 percent of the vote.
The Social Democrats are followed in the survey by the AfD (Alternative for Germany) with 18 percent and the CDU with 13 percent. The left comes to eleven percent in the survey. It is followed by the FDP with eight percent and the Greens with around five percent. Neither party was previously represented in the Schwerin state parliament.
Berlin: Before the election to the House of Representatives, the SPD (with new top candidate Franziska Giffey) and the Greens are close together in a poll. The Social Democrats in the German capital come in the ZDF “Politbarometer Extra” of the research group Elections to 22 percent, the Greens to 19. The CDU follows in third place with 17 percent. The Left has 13 percent, the AfD nine percent and the FDP seven percent. It is unclear here whether there will be a sequel to “Red-Red-Green”. The SPD is keeping a low profile here. Other three-party alliances, such as the SPD, CDU and FDP, would also be possible.
