There were long faces at the first extrapolation at 4 p.m. in the neosphere in Linz: At 3.9 percent, the entry into the state parliament at the second attempt by the Pink in Upper Austria was still uncertain.
For the time being, only campaign leader Julian Steiner and member of the National Council Niki Scherak showed party celebrities. Steiner admittedly was already confident: It was a “tremendous game”, but the move would be successful, he said.
In fact: with the payment of the larger municipalities and cities, the Neos climbed above the four percent mark, in the neosphere pink sparkling wine was beheaded and people toasted themselves with the words “Everything will be fine”. It was still shaking until late in the evening, because according to the latest projection, the Neos did not jump far over the hurdle necessary for moving in (4.2 percent). Top candidate Felix Eypeltauer was “very happy” about moving into the Linz Landhaus even before the final result was announced.

The downside for the Neos is that with the MFG, another new force is entering the state parliament and the vaccination skeptics even achieved a better result than the Neos. Steiner attributed this to the “summer sleep” of the federal and state governments in the Corona policy, the frustration about it gave the protest party a boost.
The “critical force” in the state parliament, however, want to be the Neos, as Eypeltauer announced.
