Aggressive threats have become a burden for many politicians at least since the pandemic. The Minister of Health has now made public how heavy this burden is.
Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) not only has to live with death threats against himself, but is also concerned about the safety of his family.
“I am still being threatened myself, and I also receive shocking death threats for my children,” Lauterbach told the “Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger”.
“I have to park my car in a suburb. Unfortunately, I can’t go outside in the evening without personal security,” added the SPD politician. Lauterbach lives in the center of Cologne. For a long time he has been the target of hate comments, which are mainly directed against his Corona policy.
