In Wuppertal there was a momentous breakdown in the federal election on Sunday. District 187 ballot papers were swapped with documents from a neighboring district.
There was a breakdown in the general election in Wuppertal. In electoral district 187, ballot papers from the neighboring constituency were issued with the wrong direct candidates, said district returning officer Johannes Slawig on Sunday evening on request.
Wuppertal: The breakdown was noticed late
There are 203 of 433 ballot papers for which the first votes have already been declared invalid. In another constituency there were six ballot papers. The cause is unclear. Unfortunately, the error in the handing out of the ballot papers at the polling station was not noticed, but only later.
If the error becomes relevant to the mandate, i.e. the result of the direct elections is very close, the electoral district would have to be re-elected. The election committee will decide on this next Wednesday. “Radio Wuppertal” reported first.

See in the video: Election Sunday is overshadowed by chaos in some Berlin districts such as Prenzlauer Berg. By the time the last voters cast their votes, projections were already being published. Many voters are now calling for a new election in the chaos districts.
