On the other hand, the FPÖ, which loses 2.8 million euros annually after its crash on Sunday, has to get by with significantly less money. Upper Austria pays a total of 24.5 million euros to the state parliament parties and their clubs and thus provides the most generous political party support in Austria after the federal government and Vienna.
For most of the previous state parliament parties there is a little more money after the election: the ÖVP and its club are entitled to 9.8 million euros according to APA calculations, the SPÖ receives 5.1 million euros and the Greens 2.9 million euros. Only the FPÖ will have to come out with significantly less in the future and will only receive 4.7 million euros – 2.8 million euros less than before.
The corona belittlers from the MFG brings their entry into the state parliament party and club funding in the amount of 1.15 million euros. Also represented in the state parliament for the first time are the NEOS, which so far have only received party funding at community level. In future, they will also be entitled to a total of 780,000 euros annually at state level.
In principle, the state pays 21.1 euros to the parties this year for all Upper Austrians who are eligible to vote. The majority of the sum is divided between the parties according to the distribution of forces in the state parliament. For a smaller part (3.23 euros per voter), the result in the municipal council election is decisive. EU citizens are also entitled to vote there, which increases the total amount of funding a little. For the state parliament clubs there are almost 1.3 million euros this year. The two new Landtag parties will not receive the funding retrospectively for the entire year, but only from the first session of the newly elected Landtag (probably on October 23).
