Environment Minister Leonore Gewessler (Greens) will give a joint press conference tomorrow, Thursday, with the relevant governors at 1 p.m. (nachrichten.at will broadcast live from 1 p.m.). On Tuesday, the department head already told ORF that she dared to say, “we’re going to take the last bend.”
The climate ticket starts on October 26th. With Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland, the populous East is now apparently also included. At the start of the national holiday, the climate ticket will be offered at a 15 percent discount. From the start of advance sales on October 1st to October 26th, it costs 949 instead of 1,095 euros for one year. For everyone under 26 and for seniors there is a reduction to 821 euros, with the 15 percent discount at the start it is 699 euros. “You get a hell of a lot for your money,” said the minister in advance.
With the Klimaticket Now it is possible to use all regular transport (public and private rail transport, city transport and transport associations) in a certain area. It will be available from Friday in advance sales at www.klimaticket.at, at all ÖBB and Westbahn counters and also at all sales outlets of the participating associations.
