Ukraine-News: Gazprom will not further cut gas supplies through Ukraine

The Kiev city administration has its citizens the installation of Christmas trees promised – notwithstanding the ongoing Russian missile attacks and ongoing power outages. “We must not allow (Kremlin boss Vladimir) Putin to steal our Christmas,” says Mayor Vitali Klitschko in an interview published by the Ukrainian news agency RBC. Although there will be no Christmas markets and the like in times of war, the people of Kiev should at least get festively decorated Christmas trees. These would be paid for by entrepreneurs, says Klitschko.

However, there could be problems with the festive lighting. The former world boxing champion admits that there could still be power outages in Kyiv until spring due to the numerous damages in the energy sector. The allegedly too slow repair work to restore the electricity and water supply in the Ukrainian capital has recently caused concern for dispute between President Volodymyr Zelenskyj and Klitschko.
