FP expects a clear coalition announcement from the VP

FP expects a clear coalition announcement from the VP

The VP had invited the FP as the first party to the Brown Hall of the Linz country house. Governor Thomas Stelzer (VP) said at the beginning of the meeting, which was scheduled for two hours: “We are now looking forward to good discussions with all parties.” He read off a clear leadership claim from the election result, which is why the VP also invited to talks and they did not want to “anticipate” them. After the first round of talks this week, they want to decide with whom “serious negotiations about a partnership” will then be started. The desired coalition partner is the party with which “we can get most of our proposed program through”.

Haimbuchner, on the other hand, emphasized: “We managed the departments very well”. He did not see himself as a “job hopper” and made it clear that he wanted to keep his previous agendas. The conversation is not a “first round of getting to know each other” because the FP has already ruled the country for one legislative period together with the VP. It is now up to the TP to announce with whom they want to conduct intensive negotiations, “he said before the interview.
