SPD top candidate Franziska Giffey, the next governing mayor, wants to keep all options open and also to speak to the CDU and FDP.
In the capital SPD, however, there is a clear tendency for the government to continue with the Greens and the Left Party. According to a report by the “Tagesspiegel”, four out of twelve SPD district associations have already passed a corresponding resolution. “R2G’s balance sheet is consistently positive,” said the Berlin-Mitte district association yesterday.
The SPD begins tomorrow, Friday, with the explorations – first with the Greens, then with the Left Party. Talks with the CDU and FDP will follow on Monday.
