Ministry of Health plans tougher 3G requirements in the workplace

A draft ordinance from the Ministry of Health stipulates that the 3G rule will apply from October 15th to all employees, owners and operators of businesses who might meet colleagues or customers in the workplace: they must be vaccinated, recovered or negative be tested for Corona. According to the draft that was submitted to ZiB 2, employees at the workplace must always have the proof with them.

In the case of direct customer contact – with exceptions such as restaurants or sports facilities – a mask is also required if the risk of infection is not minimized by other protective measures, the ZiB 2 quoted from the draft.

Terminations are also possible

That would mean a significant tightening: Currently, the 3G obligation only applies to staff in a few areas, such as in hospitals or health resorts. Anyone who does not comply with the 3G rule could be sent home by the employer without payment. Terminations would also be possible, according to the report. But nothing is fixed yet, negotiations are still under way, the ZiB 2 refers to the Ministry of Health. A conference between Minister Wolfgang Mückstein (Greens) and the state health councils was planned for the evening.

The draft also provides for new rules for the ski areas from November 1, namely a 3G obligation for access to cable cars and cog railways.
