New Year’s Eve holidays in Russia are barely over when Kremlin propaganda resumes its agitation. As one of the first, Putin’s fiercest cheerleader lashes out and deals out against Germany, Poland and France. It’s mostly tanks that make him foam at the mouth.
The short break that Vladimir Solovyov gave Russian television viewers from himself lasted for ten days. Now Russia is slowly waking up from the New Year’s holiday, to which the whole country was officially sent until January 8th. And Solovyov, Putin’s favorite cheerleader, is returning to TV screens.
Ten days without spitting poison and bile in front of an audience of millions – the propagandist has clearly had something backed up. And so, on his evening show on Monday, he lashed out at the world like a rabid dog who hasn’t been let off the leash for too long.
The hate show, as it is called, began with a tirade against Germany. The announced delivery of Marder tanks caused the Kremlin propagandist to seeth with anger. Mimicking the tone of SS officers – at least the way he imagines it – Solovyov roared through his studio: “Germany admits that it is ready to arm its Bandera friends. (…) The German tanks will burn! “, he explained with relish after an untranslatable gibberish from German and Russian.
“He’s an absolutely disgusting scum!”
In the next sentence, Solovyov pounced on Poland. The Polish “Russophobes” are probably of the opinion that “Poland hasn’t been divided for too long,” he barked. He was alluding to the division of Poland between Stalin and Hitler. The Kremlin has been trying to sweep this fact under the carpet of history for decades. But the one contradiction more or less doesn’t matter for the propaganda. In the end, Solovyov managed to complain in the same breath about allegedly anti-Russian Poles and to scoff at how the Poles “wanted to fit their horses into tanks.” Solovyov wanted to demonstrate the supposed backwardness of Poland, but only demonstrated his own chauvinism.
But neither Poland nor Germany managed to attract as much hatred that evening as one man: Emmanuel Macron. The French President dared to speak about Putin. “When you meet him in person, he’s not repulsive. It’s a paradox,” Macron said in an interview about his encounters with Putin. Such a statement about his lord and master enraged Solovyov. “When you meet Macron, there is no paradox! He’s disgusting,” the propagandist cried, his face twisted. “He’s disgusting! He’s a lie! He’s absolute scum! (…) He’s a little wannabe Napoleon! He’s absolutely disgusting scum!”
Kremlin propaganda exposes the grimace of the regime
“A disgusting, disgusting creature,” Solovyov concluded his tirade. Not without first accusing Macron of homosexuality. You saw at the World Cup that Macron couldn’t resist the temptation to hug sweaty men, Solovyov said with disgust on his face. For Kremlin propaganda, homosexuals are tantamount to the spawn of hell.
And so the new year for Kremlin propaganda begins as the old one ended: self-disclosure. Solovyov could not have shown the world more impressively that there can be no talks with his master’s inhuman regime.
As if he wanted to confirm this, Solovyov took out the nuclear mace again: “Macron supplies tanks. I would immediately strike pre-emptively. A pre-emptive nuclear strike against France! And that’s it!”
“If France openly shits on us, then we should openly say there can be no France!” added one of his studio guests. “No one will miss France if it’s gone.
