Extremism: 93 percent of Brazilians against storming government quarters

After the storming of the government district, calm is restored in Brasília. The riots have left their mark, now things are being cleaned up. The excess of violence has woken up many people.

Most Brazilians condemn the attack on the government district in the capital, Brasília, by radical supporters of former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro. 93 percent rejected the storming of Congress, the seat of government and the Supreme Court, said the polling institute Datafolha yesterday. Only three percent of respondents supported the attack.

Thousands of Bolsonaro supporters stormed the government district in Brasília on Sunday. They briefly seized the control centers of the country’s most important branches of government, rioted in offices and boardrooms and left a trail of destruction in their wake. It took hours for the security forces to bring the situation back under control.
