The transport minister is “torpedoing” the climate targets like no one else. “A turnaround is needed,” says Neubauer on the occasion of the protests against the expansion of motorways that have been announced for today.
Activist Luisa Neubauer criticized Federal Transport Minister Volker Wissing (FDP) before new protests by the Fridays for Future climate movement on Friday. “There is no other minister in Germany who is torpedoing his climate goals like Transport Minister Volker Wissing,” Neubauer told the Berlin daily Tagesspiegel.
The planned highway expansion is a “red line”. Germany is already full of autobahns. “Now we need a turnaround, otherwise we can give up on the climate goals.”
Fridays for Future wants to protest against the expansion of freeways in several cities today. In Berlin there is a rally against the plans for the A100 city motorway. Protests are also planned in Hamburg, Wiesbaden and Stuttgart
