Investigators have found another classified government document while searching the home of former US Vice President Mike Pence. The Friday search lasted five hours, Fox News quoted Pence adviser Devin O’Malley as saying.
A document was secured that was marked as classified information. In addition, six other pages were found without such a mark. Pence and his team previously cooperated fully with the relevant authorities and agreed to a consensual search of the Indiana property, O’Malley said.
It has been known since the end of January that secret files from his previous tenure were found in the 63-year-old’s house. It was said that a lawyer discovered the documents. They were then picked up by the federal police. Pence later commented: “While I was not aware that this classified information was in our private home, let me be clear: this classified information should not have been there.” The search of the house now carried out by investigators from the federal police FBI had been expected.
